Nipple Reduction

Nipple Reduction Surgery

Nipple reduction surgery is most often requested by women who were born with overly large nipples or areolas (the pigmented area around the nipple). Overly large nipples can cause embarrassment when they are erect and make the fitting of bras uncomfortable. Many women also prefer the more demure appearance of smaller nipples as well as a less prominent areola as both are less noticeable under clothing.

Correction of nipple enlargement in the hands of Dr. Romano is done under a local anesthesia and requires only about an hour. With very small, imperceptible incisions on the nipple only excess tissue is removed, the nipple is reshaped, and can be reduced in both diameter and projection. You can return to work or normal activities the same day with a permanent and beautiful result. The good news is that your sensation and stimulation should remain totally normal.

Dr. Romano Explains

Just like nipple inversion surgery, nipple reduction surgery is a procedure that many men and women seek after spending years being unaware that an artistic, simple, safe, and predictable operation was available. Many patients are born with this condition. They tape or hide their nipples and never feel comfortable exposing this area. You may have lived this way for years without the knowledge of this operation. Nipple enlargement can be something you are born with, or may develop later in life for different reasons. It may occur after weight gain, breast-feeding, piercing, or other circumstances. This is not an inherited condition. Nipple reduction surgery is something that can be highly customized to size, shape, diameter, and projection. The stitches are dis-solvable, and your incision lines will be imperceptible.
