The Surgical Breast Lift

The Surgical Breast Lift

Women seek this procedure when they have breasts that sag, droop, or have an unsymmetrical shape or large areolae. Whether you are born with this or it develops later in life, especially after breast-feeding, it is a perfectly normal and very common request for women to want their breasts to look perkier and more youthful. A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is clearly one of the most artistic operations of the breast that Dr. Romano performs.

Dr. Romano can choose from a variety of incisions depending upon your anatomy and expectations. Incisions such as the donut, periareolar, crescent, lollipop, vertical, boat anchor, inverted T, and others may be employed. The choice of incision depends on your anatomy and expectations. Implants may or may not be used with mastopexy, depending on if you want a lift and more volume, especially in the upper pole of the breast. Much can be done with this surgery to not only increase the size of your breasts, but also to provide a very beautiful and natural shape. A wide array of implants is available—from saline to silicone, from fuzzy to smooth, from round to anatomic. Gel fill materials have evolved to be very safe, feel natural, and cause less contracture.

An increasing number of patients select Dr. Romano to perform their breast lift due to the high degree of artistry, precision, and careful planning required, and because his results are so amazing.

Dr. Romano Explains

Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is clearly one of the most artistic operations of the breast that I perform.

Whether you are born with this or it develops later in life, especially after breast-feeding, it is a perfectly normal and very common request for women to want their breasts to look perkier and more youthful. Because of the great degree of artistry, precision, planning, and pleasing results, this is an operation I love to perform and am delighted to help you with.

Patients seek this procedure when they have sagging, looseness, drooping, large areolae, or a funny shape to the breasts. There are numerous incisions that may be employed, such as the donut, periareolar, crescent, lollipop, vertical, boat anchor, inverted T, and others. Surgery involves a relatively short procedure under a light general anesthetic and is performed where I do surgery, which is in a hospital setting. The surgery is safe and predictable. Virtually immediately after surgery you see your result, and it just gets better with time. All of the stitches are dissolvable, and the recovery is rapid; you can return to work in several days and to some physical exercise within the first week.

Surgery to lift and artistically shape the breast is very common in my practice. I have performed hundreds of these procedures with consistently beautiful and natural results. I have special expertise in this procedure and spend a great deal of time discussing your anatomy, listening to your expectations, and interpreting for you what your anatomy and body will safely and predictably allow me to do. In addition I build a system into every surgery that, initially, allows you to recover much more quickly and, secondly, preserves your surgical results. This system includes a special diet, vitamins, supplements, special garments, breast exercises, skin products, physical training, and knowing what to avoid. Together all of this allows me to create results that are consistently very beautiful, quick to heal, and exceptionally natural. I use minimal incisions, especially in an area of such great importance to women. I am delighted to surgically provide you with such a profound body-image change, one that has so consistently pleased my patients and changed their lives.
