I have a long history of volunteer activity beginning in my early teens when I cut grass and did household chores without pay for sick and disabled people in my Virginia neighborhood. This has evolved into my present volunteer work on a regular basis in San Francisco as the only plastic surgeon to volunteer at the San Francisco Free Clinic; a regular participant on medical missions to the jungle of Guatemala; clinical assistant professor academic appointment and committed teacher at the University of California San Francisco in the Plastic Surgery Department.
