The Hospital de La Familia and Dr. Romano

I have many friends and patients that in exchange for my services or through my encouragement have contributed to The Hospital de La Familia foundation. Please contact me personally for information and support in this most worthy cause and this amazing foundation that supports a hospital, nutrition center, grade school, nursing school and sewing school for deserving people in a desperately poor area. Please help.

Calling on his fellow members of The Family Club, Jack raised the necessary $100,000 to begin construction of a hospital, which would become known as the Hospital de la Familia.

The Hospital de la Familia was formally dedicated on February 8, 1976 and stands as a testament to the vision and commitment of two extraordinary gentlemen.

History

Hospital de la Familia had its beginnings in 1972, when Jack Younger, a successful contractor from the San Francisco Bay Area, met a local priest, Padre Cayetano Bertoldo. Padre Bertoldo was dedicated to improving the lives of those living in poverty in his parish in Nuevo Progreso, an area close to the border with Mexico with a large indigenous Mayan population. He enlisted Jack to help him establish a clinic to provide healthcare to those in this rural community.
